Buji (also spelled bougie or boujee) is used to describe people who act as if they are high-class, wealthy, or sophisticated, often in an exaggerated or pretentious way. It can be playful, mocking, or both, depending on context.
Example: “She’s acting so buji with her designer bag.”
Means: “She’s acting pretentious or high-class because of her designer bag.”
Example: “This restaurant is too buji for me.”
Means: “This restaurant feels overly fancy or pretentious for my taste.”
