Queer can mean strange or odd, and it is also used to describe a gay person. The term has different connotations depending on the context in which it is used.

Means: “That’s a bit strange or odd.”

Example: “He identifies as queer”
Means: “He identifies as someone who is gay or part of the LGBTQ+ community.”
